Product Description
The 19351 close up lens holder will mount on any bayonet macro port (18426, 18428 and 18429) manufactured by Aquatica. The holder is fastened externally in front of the port by three screws. These special screws will not scratch the protective anodized surface layer of the port. The close up lenses (19352 or 19353) can be quickly and securely mounted on the holder by a quick press-fit method.
The close up lenses are water contact (wet) diopters which are made from high-quality achromatic dual element BK-7 mineral glass. The dual elements (commonly known as doublets) are sealed inside an air space. This optical formula helps eliminate aberration and distortion, improving sharpness and maintaining the magnification of the original lens when submerged. The doublet formula improves performance over a single element design. Each lens is treated with both a scratch resistant and antireflection coating for maximum protection and optical quality. The close up lens provides a very flat plane of focus which is virtually free of any color fringing.
The closeup lenses can be quickly snapped into the Aquatica close up lens holder mounted in front of the macro port. Alternatively, the close up lenses can be mounted of third party macro ports using standard 67mm threading.
The Aquatica 19352 Close up lens +5 gives the following maximum magnification with various macro lenses:
- 60mm lense – maximum magnification of 1.2:1
- 10mm lense – maximum magnification of 1.5:1
- 105mm lense – maximum magnification of 1.5:1
- 150mm lense – maximum magnification of 1.9:1
- 200mm lense – maximum magnification of 2.3:1
The Aquatica 19353 Close up lens +10 gives the following maximum magnification with various macro lenses:
- 60mm lense – maximum magnification of 1.5:1
- 10mm lense – maximum magnification of 2.1:1
- 105mm lense – maximum magnification of 2.2:1
- 150mm lense – maximum magnification of 2.8:1
- 200mm lense – maximum magnification of 3.5:1
The lens holder and lens bodies are machined from the highest quality aluminium. Every part is hand-polished and then anodized to military specifications. The optics are assembled by hand and every single one is critically inspected before leaving the Aquatica factory.
As a separate product there is a lens caddy available for transporting one or two close up lenses underwater. The lens caddy can be mounted on the grip of a camera housing or on the side of a TLC strobe arm. By using the lens caddy, you have further flexibility of using or not using the super macro close up lens(es) during your macro shoots underwater.
