Aquatica 18426 / AF/MF Flat Macro Port
650 €
This flat port is a long standing member of Aquatica’s modular port system and a favourite among professionals and advanced underwater photographers. When combined with a variety of extension rings it can accommodate a large array of macro lenses, ranging from 35mm all the way to 200mm, it is even compatible with lenses equipped with internal close up lenses, teleconverters or extension tubes.
The flat lens is made of BK-7 material, finely polished and coated with a superior Silicon Oxide coating (SiO2) on the external surface. This coating is not only a more resistant type of coating but has a 0.01% reflective index, improving light transmission. Additionally this SiO2 coating is a perfect match to the index of water, which naturally reduces reflections.
This AF/MF macro port has a side mounted knob that can connect to an optional focus gear mounted on the lens. This gives the user the possibility of manually focusing the lens. Manual focus can be very handy when shooting in low light, poor visibility or when using close-up lenses for high magnification, as the camera’s auto focus tends to struggle in these situations. The manual focus knob can be placed at 3, 6, 9 and 12 0′clock positions.
This macro port will accept the following lenses without any port extensions:
- Nikkor 60mm AF Micro
- Canon 60mm EFS Macro
Other macro lenses will likely require a port extension betwwen the macro port and the camera housing. For a list of the available extension and their dimension please visit the extensions rings section. A lens chart associated with your camera housing will inform you of the most current popular combinations – check the respective camera housing product pages for further information.
Focus gear are available for most popular macro lenses. These are operated via the focus knob on the side of the macro port. Check the respective lens chart for selecting the right focus gear. Additionally, there are available auto focus to manual focus selector gear for the Nikon 60mm and Nikon 105mm (non VR) lenses. These selectors connect to the Focus Gear Control Knob of the camera housing and will let you switch the focusing mode on these lenses if used. Canon EF USM and Nikon AFS lenses do not require such an adapter. The design of these lenses allows the user to override the auto focus at any time.
The macro port also includes a neoprene protective cover.
